Obama aide plans to leave White House

Washington, November 11: US President Barack Obama’s personal aide and gate keeper, Reggie Love is reportedly planning to leave the White House by the end of this year.

The 30-year-old Love, a key member of the Obama entourage, is planning to leave the White House by the end of the year, people close to the administration said, AFP reported on Thursday.

The six-foot-four Love, once a forward for the Duke Blue Devils basketball team has been at Obama’s side during presidential trips, and he ran errands for him during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Love started out as a staff assistant in Obama’s Senate office after college, rising to become his personal assistant, known as the “body man.”

He acted not only as Obama’s personal assistant but also as his gatekeeper and basketball partner.

Love’s exit comes at a time of transition for the US administration and despite the time-honored tradition that close aides do not abandon the president immediately before an election.

White House officials did not immediately offer details about Love’s departure.
