Kanpur: New Zealand reached 71 for one at lunch on the second day in reply to Pakistan’s first innings score of 318 in the first cricket Test, here today.

Starting at 291 for 9, India reached 318 courtesy Ravindra Jadeja’s 42 off 44 balls.

In reply, New Zealand lost Martin Guptill’s (21) wicket but Tom Latham (25 batting) and skipper Kane Williamson (21 batting) added 36 runs for the unbroken second wicket stand.
