Coimbatore: A second year nursing student allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at her hostel on the outskirts of the city.
Sharmila (19), hailing from Mayiladuthurai and pursuing BSc from a private nursing college at Madkkarai, was found lying in front of her room late last night. She was foaming at the mouth, police said.
She was given first aid in a private hospital and then rushed to the government hospital here. However, she died this morning, they said.
According to police, Sharmila was depressed after a quarrel with some of her classmates.
