A 24-year-old nurse allegedly committed suicide at her house here following a petty quarrel with her brother over watching TV, police said today.
Madhupriya, who worked at a private hospital in Panjagutta, injected herself with two bottles of insulin late last night and seemed to have died in sleep at her house in Macchabollarum area, they said based on a complaint lodged by the young woman’s mother. “Madhupriya had a petty quarrel with her brother over remote while watching TV last night.
Her brother apparently wanted to watch cricket and she asked him to switch to some other channel,” Sub-Inspector Suresh said. The woman was also told by her mother to let her brother to watch the channel of his choice, he said, adding later when the family members went to sleep she injected herself with two bottles of insulin. This morning, Madhupriya was found dead when her mother went to wake her up, the police officer said. “It seems she was apparently depressed over the incident and resorted to the extreme step. Her body has been shifted to a hospital for post-mortem,” Suresh added. PTI
