Number of Minority Residential Schools limited to 120

Hyderabad: It has been decided to limit the number of residential schools to be established in Telangana for minority students to 120. Officials of Minority Welfare have been taken by surprise by the decision taken by Chief Minister as the officials were busy making preparations for 230 schools.

Recently Chief Minister had announced in a meeting held with minority leaders of the party that the number of minority residential schools will be raised to 500, however in a surprise move officials have been directed to limit the number to 120.

The State Government, with an aim to take education, employment and development closer to the minorities, had announced to launch residential schools for them. To begin with, 71 schools were started during current year.
