NTR statue to be installed at river Godavari

A statue of late Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, TDP founder and first chief minister of TDP government, will adorn the shores of the Godavari river.

TDP president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu disclosed this while addressing the cadre and party leaders at Mahanadu convention at Gandipet on the outskirts of the city. Stating that works in connection with the Godavari pushkarams were going on expeditiously, Chandrababu said 248 of 268 pushkar ghats were ready. He said he had directed the officials concerned not to compromise with quality of works and make all necessary arrangements for the public during the festival.

Stating that an NTR statue in the garb of Lord Sri Krishna will be erected on the shores of the Godavari river, the Chief Minister said it was the responsibility of every one in protecting the sacred Godavari river. He also strongly felt that the two Telugu States would benefit with the linking of the rivers. (NSS)
