Hyderabad, October 07: Film actor NTR Junior donated Rs 20 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for relief and rehabilitation of flood victims. He met Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao at the Secretariat and later handed over a cheque for Rs 20 lakh to the Chief Minister.
Speaking to reporters later, NTR Jr said that he would tour the flood-affected areas soon. He called upon his fans to donate liberally for the cause. NTR Jr, who campaigned for TDP during Assembly elections, bypassed NTR Memorial Trust for which TDP chief is the managing trustee, and donated money directly to the Government.
NTR Jr meeting KVP Ramachandra Rao too raised eyebrows in the political circles.
However, Chandrababu Naidu yesterday exhorted his partymen to donate money for flood relief measures either to any NGO or to the Government or NTR Memorial Trust.
