NSA Doval reaches Burdwan blast site

A high-level delegation, led by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, has arrived at the blast site in West Bengal’s Burdwan District, to assess the progress made in the blast case.

Doval is also likely to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and state Governor K. N. Tripathi.

The Burdwan blast took place on October 2, in which two suspected terrorists belonging to the Jamaat Ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JUB) were killed.

The National Security Advisor’s visit comes in the backdrop of an on-the-spot assessment carried out by National Investigation Agency Director General Sharad Kumar last Friday.

Three, including two women, were arrested and interrogated by the NIA. The Union Home Ministry had handed over the probe into the case to the NIA considering its international ramifications.
