IT minister KT Rama Rao in a video conference from Silicon Valley has said that NRIs are showing a great interest to contribute for the Water Grid project in Telangana.
NRIs in Dallas came forward to fund the Water Grid project for 20 fluoride-affected villages in Nalgonda district, he said adding the NRIs would adopt these 20 villages.
He directed panchayat raj officials to constitute coordination committees under the chairmanship of district Collectors for effective coordination of Water Grid project works. Rama Rao wanted panchayat raj commissioner Anita Ramachandran to launch an exclusive website helping those NRIs who wants to contribute for development of their native villages.
The scrutiny of detailed project reports (DPRs) of Water Grid should be completed immediately with the help of officials of WAPCOS, Rama Rao said.
