NRI’s house was burglared with gold and cash worthRs. 14 Lakhs

The NRI house at Dabeerpura was burglared late on Wednesday the night before his son’s wedding, when the family was at a nearby fUnction hall to prepare for the marriage. The intruder stole about 960 grams of gold ornaments, and 12,000 Canadian dollars (worth Rs.6.6 lakh), two iPhones, and 48 lakh in cash.

The NRI, Maqbool Ali Khan, who works in Canada, bring up to date to the police that the cash and gold was kept for his son’s wedding.

According to Mirza Wahed Baig, detective Sub Inspector of Dabeerpura, “The victim and his family left the house at 11.30 pm and returned at 1 am. In less than one-and-half-hours, the housebreaker fled with the property.”

“The robbers climbed the stairs, broke the room’s lock and got inside. The property was taken from an almirah after breaking it open,” he added. The burglars did not break the front door to avoid being noticed.The burglars knew about the money and gold kept in house, and had planned the heist, the police suspects.
