Hyderabad: Md. Abdul Aqeel, an NRI, who divorced his wife, has set his WhatsApp profile pic as talaq written thrice.
The girl’s parents have expressed concern over misuse of talaq they claimed that the person’s brother did the same thing to his wives.
Aqeel’s wife claims she has been cheated by him, as he had promised to keep her happy after marriage and take her to the USA, but she was left here and her in-laws used her and elder daughter-in-law of the family as maids.
She further revealed that her husband sent a text message on WhatsApp saying ‘talaq talaq talaq’ a few days ago. On this her in-laws sent her back to her parent’s house saying that she has no right to stay in their house anymore.
However girl’s mother has to say that this is not the right way to give talaq. Husband should be present in front of the wife and say the words personally. Also, there should be a gap of 40 days between every utterance of talaq. She further informed that the man sent the divorce notice to them and set the triple talaq as his DP.
Boy’s parents have been arrested by the police and a case has been booked against them under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 354 (outraging the modesty).”
