Mumbai, December 06: He married a 25-year-old woman allegedly hiding the fact that he had artificial hair and teeth, but this cost the newly married NRI dear and landed him behind bars after his wife accused him of cheating.
The 27-year-old accused identified as Abdullah Sayed, who claimed to be working with Emirates Airlines in Dubai, was arrested here under section 419 (impersonation) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code after his in-laws lodged a complaint with Agripada police station, police said.
The accused’s father Azghar Miya Hussain (52) was also held for aiding his son in the crime, they added.
According to police, Byculla resident Afsha Shaikh got engaged with accused Abdullah on May 29 in traditional way after which he had flown to Dubai citing that he had work.
