Pranamya Suri, an NRI and Kuchipudi dancer, has appealed to the youth to come forward to serve the poor and strive for their uplift. She said that she would set up four water purifier plants in Nalgonda district this year.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Pranamya Suri said that she has launched a non-profit organization ‘Echoes of India’ for providing pure and safe drinking water to the people, who were suffering due to fluoride water in Nalgonda district and conduct health camps across the State. She said that her organization has already set up eight water plants in Mothkur, Mattampally and Chatlapally mandals in Nalgonda district. She said that they have provided purified water to over 40,000 people in the district.
Pranamya Suri, daughter of Suri Vasanth Kumar and Suri Srilatha of Hyderabad, settled in the USA. Pranamya said that she was doing Medicine in the USA, but has a strong passion for Kuchipudi, nurtured by her parents. During her sojourn in the country, she performed during major festivals in the country like Konark Dance festival, Nalanda Nrityotsav and Natyanjali Dance Festival, Chidambaram, she added.
She said that she also performed in all major cities like Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack and so on. She also received several prestigious titles like Natya Sharadi, Nritya Nipuna, Sringara Mani. Deeply moved by the conditions in Nalgonda, where villagers were suffering from fluoride problem and lack of drinking water, she raised funds through dance and donated eight reverse osmosis water plants.
In Kuchipudi village, she said that she has conducted medical camp, in association with Vedantam Venkatachalapathi of founder of Kuchipudi Baghavathamela recently for all the senior artistes and villagers suffering from health problems like severe diabetes.
She said that they would organize a ‘Health Camp’ at Kuchipudi village in every month. She said that they would also plan to perform Kuchipudi dance programme to raise funds in the city shortly.
