NRC will not be implemented in Telangana State: Mahmood Ali

Hyderabad: Home Minister of Telangana State, Mohammed Mahmood Ali promised that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will not be implemented in the State.

Addressing a public gathering, the minister said that he had informed the Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi that the NRC exercise will not be conducted in the State.

CAA

Making his stand clear over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, Mahmood Ali said that not only from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan but persecuted Hindus from the entire world should be given citizenship.

Earlier, Kerala and West Bengal made it clear that CAA will not be implemented in the states.

Yesterday, the Kerala Government has moved the Supreme Court challenging the amended law. It became the first state to move the apex court.

Kerala government said the CAA violates the constitution and strikes at the root of India’s secular and democratic principles. The resolution passed by the state Assembly against CAA has been attached to the petition.

It may be mentioned that protests are taking place across the country against the controversial law.
