Assam: BJP’s youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha lodged a complaint against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday for her statement against the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
DC with reference to the Telegraph has reported that the complaint accused her of inciting “hatred and tension” among communities with the intention of derailing the National Register of Citizens update.
According to an officer of Naharkatia police station, the complaint was filed at Naharkatia police station in Upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district, which would be referred to their headquarters in Guwahati.
It must be noted that warning that exclusion of 4 million people from National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam could lead to “bloodbath” and a “civil war” in the country, Mamata had accused the Modi government of trying to make millions of people “stateless” in Assam for political gains.
