New Delhi: The deadline for the completion of enumeration exercise for updating the National Register Citizens (NRC) has extended by 6 months.
As per a notification issued by the Office of Registrar General of India, the enumeration is now scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2019.
The first notification was issued on December 6, 2013 giving three years for the completion of NRC process in Assam by the government.
However, since then, there have been five extensions of the deadline by the government through notifications issued at regular intervals.
