Nowhera’s defamation case against Asad Owaisi

Nowhera Shaik had filed a case before the chief city judge claiming damages against the MIM Hyderabad MP, as a condition, she also deposited Rs 1 crore fee before the court on September 29, 2017.

The Heera Gold MD had filed a civil defamatory case against Owaisi and alleged that the MP had made several statements against her which were allegedly defamatory.

On November 6, 2017, the hearing into the case commenced before the court and in early September 2018, the court had asked both parties to appear before the court.

Owaisi also filed an interlocutory application against the suit, but the court dismissed the same and directed the parliamentarian to face the trial.

On October 14, Nowhera was arrested by Central Crime Station sleuths in a case of cheating investors. After bail in Hyderaba, she was taken to Mumbai for the same.

“The cases filed against Nowhera Shaikh are nothing but to consolidate this specific defamation case. Her opponents are trying to compel her to withdraw the case, but the las will take its own course,” said Vineet Dhanda, the Supreme Court Counsel for Heera Group.
