‘Now whom will KCR fight with for Telangana?’

Hyderabad, November 16: The BJP state unit has come down heavily on TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for announcing support to the Congress and sought to know whom he would fight with hereafter, for the formation of a separate Telangana state.

In its political resolution, the BJP state executive which met for two days on November 13 and 14, wanted the Centre to introduce a bill in the parliament for the formation of T state considering the uncertainty over what would happen after the Srikrishna Committee submitted its report on December 31. The political resolution contended that regardless of what the recommendations of the Srikrishna Committee would be, the Centre must act on people’s demand and see to it that law and order situation will not slip out of control. Referring to the suicides of MFI victims, the party said the state government should not lose any time in ensuring bank loans with nominal rates of interest for self-help groups so that they would not fall prey to MFIs anymore.

BJP felt that the state government’s ordinance was no relief to the victims since the condition in it was that interest should not exceed the principal. It did not address the problem of exhorbitant rates of interest because MFIs had the backing of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, the party alleged. On Emaar scam, it expressed dissatisfaction saying that the government tried to use the scam to settle scores with one faction in the Congress rather than showing any interest in bringing the guilty to the book. The party has demanded a thorough probe into the scam.
