Now taking selfie near Adityanath’s residence may land you in jail

Lucknow: Don’t want to land in jail for taking a selfie? then don’t take it in the VIP area, where Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath resides.

The police displayed a banner on Wednesday at the intersection leading towards 5 Kalidas Marg, the official residence of UP CM in Lucknow, reported Hindustan Times.

The banner said taking pictures and selfies in this VIP area is an offence. Those who caught taking selfies will have to face strict action, it added.

Meanwhile, the former CM of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, was prompt to criticize the move and tweeted, “It’s a New Year gift to the people of Uttar Pradesh, taking selfies will invite action under UPCOCA”.

UPCOCA is a tool to threaten the voices against the government, said Yadav.
