Now New power connections through e-Seva

Hyderabad, April 04: The Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) has tied up with e-Seva for the issue of new service connections and applications for regularising additional loads within the GHMC area limits.

Addressing the consumers as part of the Consumer Day at Mint Compound, Hyderabad, the discom chairman and managing director MT Krishna Babu said that CPDCL was striving to provide uninterrupted supply to its 72 lakh consumers spread in the seven districts under its jurisdiction and was also taking a number of initiatives like system improvement and manpower development to improve customer satisfaction.

He added that starting shortly, a ‘Prajavani’ programme will be held every Monday to solve the grievances of consumers. This programme would be held by the CMD at the corporate office level and by the SE/Operation of the concerned Operation Circle at the circle level.

In order to provide effective services to the consumers, a state-of-the-art call centre is also being set up and the work for it has been awarded to Tata Consultancy Services and it is to be completed by end of May this year, Krishna Babu said.

He added that in the next two years, CPDCL will spend around Rs1200 crore in the GHMC area on works like construction of substations, lines and augmentation of substations and transformers.

M.Narsimhulu, chairperson of Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) stated that consumers can send their grievances to them in case they are not solved in the normal course by the concerned sections or divisions. He stated that CGRF is also organising ‘consumer courts’ in all districts under the jurisdiction of CPDCL.
