Mumbai, July 04: It certainly seems to be the wedding season in the Mallya family. Just last month, Laila, born to Vijay’s Mallya’s wife Rekha from her earlier marriage, tied the knot with long-time boyfriend Samar Singh at a luxury resort in Bali.

And now Vijay’s son and heir Sidhartha from his first wife Samira, is dropping broad hints that he too may be ready for a walk down the aisle.
On Friday evening, Sid and lady love Deepika Padukone made a discreet entry at a popular fine-dine at The Palladium, but it was the presence of another elderly lady at the dinner table which intrigued fellow diners even further.
Your diarist has learnt that she was Deepika’s mother Ujjala Padukone.
The three were engrossed in conversation till late in the night, without realising that word had by then reached the paparazzi. By the time the desserts were brought in, the escape plan had been hatched. Taking a cue from their earlier run-ins with the cameras, all three left separately, poker faced, like strangers.
After all that spontaneous smooching in the heat of IPL emotion, and Deepika’s coy responses to Simi’s ‘intense’ grilling on her beau, no one’s buying it any more.
