Now its Modi’s Turn: Congress

New Delhi, July 26: Maintaining that the investigations into the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case would progress ‘beyond’ the role of former Gujarat junior Home Minister Amit Shah, who was arrested by CBI today, the Congress said it was now the turn of state chief minister Narendra Modi to answer tough and uncomfortable questions.

“Amit Shah was only a minister of state for home. He had the power to transfer police officers. But most of the transfers were made by Narendra Modi himself. The chief minister needs to answer a number of uncomfortable questions now,” Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said.

He added the arrest of Shah had made BJP extremely nervous as the party was becoming aware that the noose was tightening on their stalwart Narendra Modi.

“The BJP understands that the investigations would go beyond Shah, that it would reach Modi. That is the reason why they are raising hue and cry and trying to block further investigations,” he said.
