Hyderabad, April 9: The city residents will no more have to do the rounds of offices for passport enquiry. But they have to shell out just 3 rupees to get the information regarding their passport status right from their homes.
They can get the passport query by just doing an SMS or a phone call.
Commissioner of Police Mr A K Khan on Friday launched this service at Passport Verification Centre (PVC) at Khairatabad.
Mr. A K Khan said that these new services have been launched for the convenience of the city residents and would be shortly extended to other major cities of the state.
Mr. A K Khan informed that besides SMS the passport query can be obtained through phone voice. Information can be obtained in Urdu, English, and Telugu languages through this software.
City residents can SMS their PV file reference number on 55352 to get the information.
BSNL would be charging Rs 2 and other networks Rs 3 for this service.
