New Delhi, March 22: HRD Minister Kapil Sibal now wants to grab eyeballs for educational schemes as well. The minister, it is learnt, will soon be meeting all channel heads to impress upon them the need to give due coverage to education-related issues.
To start with, the ministry will propose that channels screen a short film on the Right to Education Act, set to come into effect from April 1. The film in question, Roll Call, has been directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Nandita Das.
While private channels may not find the film TRP-compatible, Prasar Bharati head B S Lalli is expected to come to the ministry’s help.
