New Delhi: Not just resident, but cows in India will also be given the 12-digit UID. In a surprising move, the government of India has initiated a drive to tag Aadhaar-like identification numbers to cattle so that they are vaccinated on time and scientific intervention is made available.
According to the report published in The Economic Times, the Centre decided to fix a tag with a 12-digit number inside the ears of 88 million cows and buffaloes.
For this task, around one lakh technicians have been provided with 50,000 tablets. The UIDs of cows will be stored in an online database.
