Having getting all the MLAs supporting YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy disqualified, the ruling party was keen on showing the door to the MLCs pledging support the Kadapa MP.
As part of the plan, Council chairman Dr A. Chakrapani has summoned Konda Murali and Pulla Padmavathi to appear before him on May 11 at 11 am, to offer their personal explanations on the charges of anti-party activities leveled against them by the Congress party. Notices were served on the two members by Legislature Secretary Raja Sadaram. The council chairman has already summoned S V Mohan Reddy to appear before him on May 8.
Pulla Padmavati has already declared that she was not with the YSR Congress and was staying back in Congress. She said that she was satisfied with the way Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy was ruling and hence not leaving the party. However, Konda Murali in a statement stated that he had not violated party discipline.
Mohan Reddy is continuing with Jagan Mohan Reddy. He is yet to give an explanation. It is likely that the Chairman might be satisfied with the explanation of Pulla Padmavati and may not disqualify her. But he might take action against the other two. Murali, husband of Konda Surekha, a staunch supporter of Jagan, is unlikely to backtrack. (NSS)
