Nov 1 will be celebrated across state: CM

Hyderabad, October 28: Chief minister K Rosaiah today declared that the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations would be organised across the State on November 1. He urged political parties not to disrupt cordial atmosphere in the State for their political gains and suggested that they should rethink their call for boycott of the celebrations.

Rosaiah told reporters that the State government had been organising the AP Formation Day celebrations for more than 50 years and it was not proper to obstruct the celebrations which was a ‘part of our tradition’. “We are not forcing anybody to participate in the celebrations. They are free to take their decision on whether to participate or not. But it is not advisable to obstruct the celebrations,” he said. The chief minister urged people who were opposing the celebrations to rethink before obstructing others who want to celebrate.

Rosaiah urged political parties not to spoil the cordial atmosphere prevailing in the State for their political gains and make people fight with one another.

The issue of bifurcation of the State had been entrusted to the Srikrishna Committee and people should have faith in the Central government which had constituted the panel. “We have been living together in a cordial atmosphere. Let us continue the relationships. In case there is bifurcation of the State, let us part as brothers but not as enemies,” he said.
