Notorious thief and his accomplice held

Kochi, September 08: A notorious inter-state thief and his accomplice, allegedly involved in the theft of cash, gold ornaments and mobile phones from different places in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, have been arrested.

Nazir (47), and Shanavaz (35) who helped Nazir to sell the stolen articles, were arrested from the city last night and a portion of the stolen items were recovered from them, a senior police official told reporters here.

Nazir, who had four wives and booked in over 50 cases, had undergone imprisonment for nearly 17 years in various jails in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, he said.
