Lucknow, May 24: The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police today arrested notorious criminal Kalicharan Nut who had fled from police custody last year.
A police spokesman said here that Nut, who had fled from police custody last year in July by jumping from a moving train while being taken back to Etah Jail after a court hearing in Kanpur, was arrested this morning from Gunnaur area of Badaun district.
Nut was wanted in 11 criminal cases and was also carrying a cash reward of Rs 10,000 on his head, the spokesman said adding that he was an active member of the gang led by Hajari Nut who carries a reward of Rs 50,000.
A country made revolver and a live cartridge were recovered from him.
