On receipt of credible information, SOT West team Cyberabad arrested one Notorious Cheat namely Dulla Nageswar Rao, a Car Driver, resident of NTR Nagar, Chintal here, yesterday.
His Modus operand is that, he used to note down the phone numbers of various transporting vehicles like Buses, Cars, DCMs and goods vehicles which are passing on the road and contact the owners of those vehicles on phone and also introduced himself as MD of a company and offered huge monthly rentals to hire their vehicle to his company. For this, he asked them to deposit various amounts in SBI account depending upon type of their vehicles to confirm their agreement immediately. Believing his version is true, number of innocent business people deposited huge amounts in given SBI accounts without verifying the person and genuineness of his offer. After that immediately he used to withdraw the said deposited amounts through ATMs at various places. After withdrawing the deposited amounts, he used to avoid responding to the phone calls of the victims.
Under the guidance of Addl. DCP, SOT, Cyberabad the SOT West team made stringent efforts and apprehended the cheater D. Nageswar Rao and handed him over to Hayathnagar Police for further investigation. Seized Net Cash Rs. 70,000/-, two Two Wheelers, SIM Cards, ATM Cards from his possession. On enquiry he admitted that he cheated many victims for Lakhs of rupees across AP and Telangana States. Previously also he was arrested by Gannavaram Police, Vijayawada in the month of November 2014 in similar case. But, after releasing from that case also, he did not stop his cheating tactics and cheated many people and earned huge money.
The Additional DCP, SOT, appealed to the general public not to believe these type of unknown persons without knowing their back ground and verifying the genuineness of the offers. If anybody receives this type of phone calls, they can inform the Police.(NSS)
