Notorious burglar nabbed

Hyderabad, July 31: City police made a major catch today as a notorious burglar, also involved in a few murder cases, was nabbed along and 65 tolas of gold recovered from him.

Disclosing details at a press conference here, North Zone deputy commissioner of police Y Nagi Reddy said Kola Anjilal (32) was wanted in two house burglaries in Punjagutta, four in Bowenpally and two cases in Langarhouz.

Nagi Reddy said, “Anjilal identified houses where no inmates were present and burgled them at night fall.” Anjilal is also wanted in two murder cases registered at Shivampet in Medak district and Pet Basheerabad. Besides, he is an accused in a case pertaining to violation of the Arms Act, the DCP said. Police said three non-bailable warrants were pending against Anjilal.

Acting on a tip-off, Bowenpally police led by inspector C Venugopal Reddy, arrested Anjilal at Narasapur. Police recovered two gold chains and gold bangles from him. During interrogation, the accused revealed he had stocked more stolen property and led them to 65 tolas of gold and 2 kg silver. “The recovered property is worth Rs 13 lakh,’’ Venugopal Reddy said.
