Noted Urdu writer, Dr. Khaleeq Anjum passed away

Hyderabad: Noted Urdu writer, critique and an expert on Mirza Ghalib, Dr. Khaleeq Anjum died yesterday morning in New Delhi. He was the Vice President of Anjuman-e-Taraqui-e-Urdu. He was 83 years old. He was born on 22nd December 1935 in New Delhi. He was educated at Anglo-Arabic School. Later, he joined Aligarh Muslim University and also received education from University of Delhi. He started his career as a lecturer in Urdu from Kirodimal College in New Dehli. He was elected General Secretary of Anjuman-e-Taraqui-e-Urdu in 1974. He published a large number of books and articles. He also translated books from English and Persian into Urdu.
