New Delhi: Noted Indian Poet, Mr. Gulzar’s “Footprints on Zero Line: Writings on the Partition” hit the stands. In NDTV’s interview, when asked, “Why now”, he explained the reason for writing the novel now.
While explaining Mr. Gulzar said that he used to see nightmares on what he witnessed during partition. He also said that this nightmare did not let him sleep on several occasions. He also narrates his memories of the 1947 partition of India.
When asked, “Why even younger generations have a sense of partition which is still alive in them?”, he held condition of refugees and riots responsible. He further added that partition happened due to politics not due to people.
