Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today appreciated that preparing one lakh notebooks from 35,000 kg waste paper and material is a good idea and youth should emulate this practice.
A team of NGO involved in this business has called on Srihari at the Secretariat and explained about their efforts on preparing notebooks through waste material. The Deputy Chief Minister gave a pat to the team for stating that they are collecting waste paper and materials from various companies to prepare notebooks. They are distributing the notebooks free of cost to the poor students staying in orphanages. Srihari praised the NGO for its work of preparing one lakhnote books using 35,000 kg waste paper. Thus, the team claimed that by doing so, they could avoid the danger of cutting about 700 trees for making pulp for notebooks.
