Note ban itself is a big scam: Congress leaders

Dubbing the decision of demonetization of big notes by the central government as a ‘big scam’, Congress senior leader Dr J Geetha Reddy has lashed at the Central government saying that the small traders and people were facing lot of hardships with the demonetization of big notes.

She alleged that the demonetization of big notes was a unilateral decision. Former Minister Sunitha Laxma Reddy said that the IT Sleuths seized huge amounts of new notes in BJP leaders’ houses and demanded for stringent action against them. As part of dharnas in front of collectorate offices across the state, Geetha Reddy and Sunitha staged dharna in front of Medak district collectorate office.

In Karimnagar, the police arrested the Congress leaders T Jeevan Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Arepally Mohan, Katakam Mruthyunjayam and Nerella Sharada when they were staging a dharna in front of the collectorate office protesting against the decision of demonetization of big notes by the central government.

Speaking on the occasion, Jeevan Reddy asked the central government to tell as to where is the black money in the nation as already Rs.15lakh crore money was deposited in banks. “It cleared proved that the decision of demonetization of big notes was a wrong decision”, he said and alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao mortgaged Telangana state at Prime Minister Narendra Modi to exchange the black money as white. The Congress party will not keep quiet while seeing the injustices done by the Central government.

AICC leader Jayaprakash alleged that the central government raised curtain to a big scam, which was a big scam in the world, with demonetization of big notes. He questioned Modi to tell as to why he failed to respond on the allegations leveled by the AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Stating that the RBI changed rules for several times after the announcement of demonetization of big notes, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar ridiculed the centre saying that the centre caught a mouse by digging huge mountain. The Prime Minister’s December 31 speech didn’t satisfy anyone in the nation, he said. (NSS)
