NOTA count was more than the victory margin of Siddaramaiah

Hyderabad: More people opted for “None Of The Above” (NOTA) in Badami Assembly constituency in Karnataka, where the state’s outgoing chief minister Siddaramaiah had contested. NOTA was polled more than his victory margin. While Mr Siddaramaiah’s victory margin was 1,696 votes, NOTA got 2,007 votes In Badami.

According to DC, over 3.2 lakh votes were polled for NOTA across Karnataka which comes to 0.9 percent of the total votes. This indicates growing dissatisfaction with political parties and contesting candidates.

While the highest number of votes for “None Of The Above” (NOTA) were polled in constituencies in south Bengaluru and other urban pockets, NOTA count was more than the victory margin in seven constituencies, of the winning candidate including one of BJP, and six of Congress.
