Not Yogi but Ulemas stink: Laxmikant Bajpai to Azam Khan

Escalating the war of words with Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief Laxmikant Bajpai said he finds Ulemas stinking.

Bajpai’s reaction comes in the wake of Khan’s statement that it is Yogi (Adityanath), not Yoga that stinks. Bajpai said that the Uttar Pradesh minister should not have linked yoga with religion.

when asked about his opinion over Azam’s comments, Bajpai said: “He should not have linked yoga with politics. So if he gets a stink (boo) from yogis then I get stink from Ulemas (Muslim scholars).”

Reacting on the same, Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, the head of the All India Imam Organization, said the UP BJP chief should know that Ulema are nationalists and that he should not give anti-India statements. JD (U) President Sharad Yadav, however, asked Bajpai to keep his mouth shut on such issues.
