TDP senior leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Saturday denied reports that he was in the race for the post of party’s Telangana unit president.
Speaking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan here, Errabelli said that he was already holding the post of floor leader in Assembly and therefore, he would not a contender for T-TDP post. He said he would accept the decision of AP Chief Minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on the issue and would extend his full cooperation to the leader who gets nominated to the post.
Errabelli has strongly criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for taking rest at his farm house after China visit without bothering about the hundreds of farmers who committed suicide due to financial problems. He said so far more than 1200 farmers committed suicide in Telangana. However, the State Government did not pay ex-gratia to a single family. Contrary to this, he said that the TDP Government in Andhra Pradesh has paid Rs. 5 lakh compensation to the families of farmers who committed suicide due to farm crisis. Since KCR loves to compete with AP in all terms, he must increase the compensation for farmers to Rs. 10 lakh each. (INN)
