Patna, September 10: Congress in-charge of Bihar Jagdish Tytler today said he is not concentrating on the state for the purpose of either defaming or destabilising Chief Minister Nitish Kumar or his government but to strengthen the party.
The Congress is now ‘standing on its own feet’ in Bihar and not going about on ‘crutches’ (alliances) all set to regain its glorious past, he told reporters here when his attention was drawn to allegations by the ruling NDA against him
‘We expect better showing of our party candidates in the by-polls to 18 assembly seats in Bihar this time gauging from the people’s response during election meetings in the past one week,’ he said.
Tytler said Congress would continue its relentless efforts to mobilise the peoples’ support to form the government in Bihar after the assembly elections due in the end of next year.
