Not in delhi to plead for HM portfolio: Rajanarasimha

Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha has made it clear that he did not come to Delhi to plead for Home Minister portfolio.

Speaking to the media before emplaning for Hyderabad on Friday, Rajanarasimha said he would apply his mind whether to accept Home Minister portfolio or not if the party high command offered the post to him. He also made it clear that there was no political importance to his meetings with party high priests.

Damodar has clarified that he came to Delhi only to discuss about filling of nominated posts and ensuing local body elections in the State. He said he had held deliberations with the party high command on strengthening the party and the Telangana issue. He exuded confidence that the Centre and the party high command would take an appropriate decision on Telangana issue at an appropriate time.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that he did not get an appointment with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi despite his best efforts. (NSS)
