Colombo: Norway’s Prime Minister Erna Solberg arrived on a two-day official visit to Sri Lanka on Friday and was received by Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat.
Solberg was accorded a guard of honor and a gun salute, following which the two heads of state held bilateral discussions, reports the Colombo Page.
She also met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and will be meeting Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera and Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan.
Solberg has been invited to deliver this year’s Lakshman Kadirgamar Memorial Lecture scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies.
She is also scheduled to visit a Fisheries Harbour project in Mirissa tomorrow, where she will meet harbour development committee representatives. (ANI)
