Maulana Azad National Urdu University has totally ignored local candidates in appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff while candidates belonging to other states are dominating in the university presenting themselves as locals. According to the details received by Siasat regarding existing teaching and non-teaching staff in the university, each vice chancellor has preferred candidates belonging to his respective state. Although Maulana Azad University is a national university and candidate belonging to any state can be appointed but the question arises whether the eligible or capable candidates belong to that state only which the vice chancellors belong to? Do Telangana and Andhra states lack capable persons?
After the publication of report regarding irregularities in appointment, a list has been prepared by high officials in which it has been tried to show non-locals as local people. It has been tried to give the impression that the majority of the staff belongs to Hyderabad or Telangana. Total number of teaching staff has been showed as 364 of which 142 are indicated as belonging to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh while Uttar Pradesh is on the second place with 70 candidates, Bihar is on 3d place with 59 candidates and Karnataka with 20 candidates is on the 4th place. 24 belong to Delhi. Interestingly the Vice Chancellors who served in the university so far belonged to the above mentioned states; this is the reason why people belonging to North India hold sway over the university.
