Panicked by the rumours of impending attacks on them the north-eastern people had fled the southern states in droves last month. Now that they have realized their mistake of believing in the rumours spread by none other than mischief mongers, they are making a silent comeback.
While the railways had to run special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers, the return journey is made by normal trains. This can be attributed to a relatively small number of people who left Hyderabad.
A majority of those who left the city were employed as security guards in IT companies in Cyberabad. Central government, state government, police department en masse had left no stone unturned to assure full protection to the north-eastern people fearing attack following spread of rumour. According to an estimate 40,000 people from the north-east are living in Hyderabad. A majority of them are from Assam and live in the Siddique Nagar and Anjaiah Nagar areas.
