The coastal town has come back to normalcy despite efforts of certain communal forces to increase unrest in the region.
In order to help the localities to reach essential commodities, prohibitory orders have been temporarily lifted from 10 am to 6 pm. However, prohibitory orders under Section 144 will remain during the night, as a precautionary measure. In a bid to provoke further disturbances, two persons on a motorbike pelted stones on a masjid in Konage in the early hours on February 8.
The attack resulted in broken window frames of Salaam Masjid and woke people sleeping inside only to see the miscreants flee.
The Imam of the mosque said that it was an attempt to provoke them and that people should not leave the path of peace, after the morning prayers. Shops and private offices were opened early morning on February 8 and buses plied on all routes in Ullal.
Further, no untoward incidents were reported.Courtesy:Karnataka Muslims
