Normal life hit due to strike in Valley by JKLF

Srinagar, April 10: Normal life in Kashmir Valley remained disrupted for the second consecutive day today due to the strike called by the JKLF against killing of Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees chief Moulvi Showkat Ahmad Shah in a blast.

Most of the shops and business establishments in the Valley remained closed due to the strike called by JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik.

The bustling and popular once-a-week flea market, popularly known as Sunday market, in the city remained closed due to the strike.

Transport services were also severely affected due to the strike.

However, some vehicles were seen plying on the roads in the civil lines areas of the city.

Security in several city areas like Lal Bazaar, Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rajouri Kadal, Maisuma, Batamaloo, Nawakadal and Safakadal areas has been beefed up following the killing of Shah at Maisuma on Friday, official sources said.
