Stating that the TRS government has right to implement reservations to the STs, CLP deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy today said nobody has having objections to implementing reservations to tribals.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall on Friday, Jeevan Reddy said reservations for tribal at the Central level were 7.5 percent but in the State the reservations to them were only six percent. The State government has responsibility of implementing reservations to tribal as per their population. But Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to throw the ball into the Centre’s court, Jeevan Reddy alleged and said KCR escaped from the issue by sending the reservations bill to the Centre.
He asked KCR, who extended his full support to the centre since its inception, to tell as to why he failed to convince Prime Minister Narendra Modi in regard to Muslim and Tribal reservations. The tribal have lost their due share due to KCR’s negligent attitude for the last four years. About 150 doctors from Muslims community would have become doctors in case the four percent reservations were being implemented in the last four years, he felt. He said that the TRS MPs were waging agitations in the Parliament following the suggestions of Modi only to see that the reservations issue not to come to discussion.
Demanding the state government to do justice to the Muslims by creating supernumary posts to them to fill the loss took place in the last four years, Jeevan Reddy asked KCR to make the TRS MPs to tender their resignations if he was sincere towards Muslim and Tribal reservations. Finding fault with the Chief Minister for spending only Rs.8000 crore allocating Rs.16,000 crore in the budget for ST Sub-plan, Jeevan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister spent Rs.16,000crore by allocating Rs.26,000crore for SC Sub-plan. “The figures shows the sincerity of the Chief Minister towards SCs and STs”, he pointed out.
