Congress MLA Devireddy Sudhir Reddy has said no one would be able to stop him, if he wanted to join the YSR Congress party.
Responding to the rumors that he would leave the Congress and join the YSRC, Sudhir Reddy said if he chooses to do so, he would hold a press conference and tell every one about it.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, Sudhir Reddy said he felt there was no need for him to respond to rumors. Telling that Congress leaders from Delhi also asked him to deny the rumors, he said he had questioned them why he should respond to speculations.
Stating that he was being treated well, Sudhir Reddy said even if he joined the YSR Congress, he would not have any problems there either. He, however, refused to specifically state whether he would join the YSRC or not.
However, political circles say that his words indicated that he was on his way to join the YSR Congress. It is being said though Sudhir Reddy was mentally prepared to join the YSR Congress, he postponed the idea as elections were not too far.
There was also another argument that he wanted to wait until the YSR Congress made its stand on Telangana clear. There are some who say that Jaganmohan Reddy himself dissuaded Sudhir from leaving Congress now.
It may be mentioned that Jagan has been making his moves strategically when it came to admitting MLAs of other parties. He has been admitting them in batches. It was as per this plan that Jagan, who already gave the nod to Koona Srirailam Goud, told Sudhir Reddy to wait for a little longer.
Srisailam Goud is the only MLA from the Telangana region to join the YSR Congress after Konda Surekha, who left the Congress and also resigned from her Assembly seat. She was however not re-elected in the by-election.
