The much-awaited filling of nominated posts will be taken up by Dasara besides officially handing over double bedroom houses to the poor as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gave his nod at TRS Legislature Party meeting.
The Chief Minister chaired the meeting held in Telangana Bhavan here. Of 17 main committees, some six MLAs are likely to get chairman posts for markets, temples and libraries. Steps were being taken to see that the committees comprise old and new leaders to strike a balance to win the forthcoming elections of GHMC and by-elections for Warangal and Narayankhed.
Efforts were being made to fill a total of 42 committees, including 17, to strengthen the party at district, mandal and village level. As the byelections to Warangal and Narayankhed may soon be held and GHMC by next January, the ruling party leaders are required to take the government programs to the people with wide publicity to win them. “Let us not spare the Opposition criticism on the welfare and irrigation projects”, KCR, who chaired the meeting, said.
KCR said speedy completion of the ongoing and pending projects will prove handy. Home Minister Narsimha Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, Jagadish Reddy and K Eshwar later told media persons that at KCR’s directive, the nominated posts for the committees will be filled also hand over double bedroom houses to the poor by Dasara festival, two days before or earlier. The new and old leaders will get chance in 42 committees, Narsimha Reddy said. KCR directed the officials to complete on a war-footing the irrigation projects in two to three years by taking up second phase of works though first phase was nearing completion, Narsimha Reddy said. He also said the prestigious Water Grid project will be functional soon to supply safe waters to Gajwel, Siddipet, Janagam and other selected villages. (NSS)
