Noisy scenes were witnessed at the State BJP headquarters at Nampally here on Saturday.
Even as talks were being held between BJP and TDP leaders over an electoral alliance between the two parties, a large number of BJP workers assembled at the State BJP office and raised slogans demanding that the party leadership preserve and allot tickets to party activists in its strongholds in the event of forging an electoral alliance with the TDP. The BJP activists of Suryapet town of Nalgonda district raised slogans demanding that Suryapet Assembly ticket be given to Sankineni Venkateshwara Rao irrespective of any alliance between the BJP and TDP.
Similarly, BJP workers of Narayanpet in Mahbubnagar district also raised slogans demanding that party ticket be given to Ratan Balreddy. Alleging that former minister Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy was pressurizing party leaders not to allot Narayanpet ticket to Ratan Balreddy, they demanded that the party tickets be given to party loyalists, who were sincerely striving for party’s strength. At the same time, when Dr Janardhan Reddy came there, the party activists mobbed the latter and demanded that party ticket should be given to Ratan Balreddy only. With this, workers of both groups shouted and pushed each other.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that BJP leaders of Mahbubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts have decided to file nominations irrespective of tie-up between both the parties. (NSS)
