Nod for Makkah Masjid Blast Report

Hyderabad, May 24: The State Government has approved the Justice Bhaskara Rao Commission’s recommendations on the Makkah Masjid blast, which occurred on May 18, 2007 in the Old City.

The report was submitted after going into the details of the blast at the Masjid.

Following the recommendations, as part of the action to strengthen the security system at the Masjid, the government has taken a number of decisions here on Tuesday at the Cabinet meeting.

The government has decided to set up CCTV points at all religious/ worship places for alerting all concerned besides metal detectors to screen the devotees entering the worship places to exercise caution.

This apart the police security would be in place to safeguard the interests of those coming to Masjid for prayers.

The Commission’s report also stated that due to the violent acts perpetrated, the government was suggested that timely action should be taken in future.

The report also gave suggestions that the government take suitable measures to protect the interests of those offering prayers at the mosques.

The cabinet has approved all the recommendations made by the one man commission, informed Information and Public Relations Minister D K Aruna, here while briefing the media persons.
